Defence Export Controls Outreach 2018
Defence Export Controls (DEC), within the Department of Defence is commencing another year of outreach programs. This year we will be visiting Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. During these visits we will explain what regulations govern export controls and what is required of exporters to ensure efficient and compliant exports.
Our program is aimed at small to medium enterprises, particularly those who are involved in defence industry and academic/research organisations that collaborate with overseas entities.
Our next program will be held in Sydney on Tuesday, 13 November 2018. The program will be delivered in three sessions. Time has been allocated during each session for QA following presentations. There will be no costs for attendance and catering will be provided.
Session One: Introduction to export control regulations
Our first session covers the basics of export controls and regulations. This introduction will introduce the fundamentals and pave the way for discussions throughout the day.
Session Two: Whole of Government
During this session, participants will hear from a variety of government departments and agencies to gain an understanding of the whole-of-government approach to managing exports from Australia.
Session Three: Practical applications
In our final session, a 'Defence Industry Stream' specific presentation and an 'Academic/Research Stream' specific presentation will be run simultaneously. We ask that participants attend the presentation most relevant to your field.
