NASA awards engineering contract

A US-based firm has been tapped to support the space agency’s SpectRE program.

NASA has announced that Agile Sciences of Beltsville, Maryland will be the recipient of the Spectrum and Resource Management, Engineering and Programmatic Support Services (SpectRE) contract.

Over the course of the contract, Agile is expected to deliver domestic and international spectrum management and regulatory services, communication and engineering services, and mission directorate support to NASA’s Space Communication and Navigation (SCaN) division among a list of other support services.

The contract is valued at US$74.8 million ($94.5 million), and will run from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2026.

NASA’s Space Communication and Navigation division operates across the Deep Space Network, the Near Earth Network, and the Space Network to manage navigation and communication.
