This course has been designed to give participants an accelerated overview of a broad range of space-related disciplines, including space science, satellite engineering, marketing, finance, law and project management.
That will prepare them for professional roles in the booming Australian space sector.
The course will run from 18-22 November and be held in the premises of the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Innovation and Science and the Australian Space Agency in the Canberra city centre.

It will include professional visits to the Advanced Instrumentation Technology Centre at Mount Stromlo and the Canberra Deep Space Communication Complex at Tidbinbilla.
Cost is $6,000, which includes the course fee, all course materials, all lunches, a reception plus two evening meals.
The course profile said it is directed at those working in the space sector but without a space background. That could include those with expertise in finance, law, marketing, human resources, or even engineering and science.
It is also directed at people currently working outside the space sector but with an interest in developing a better understanding. That could include entrepreneurs, government employees and politicians.

“Many people think you need to be an engineer or a scientist to be a part of the space sector. This is not the case and the International Space University has a successful record of enabling access for people of all vocations,” it says.
The course delivers a broad overview of space history and technology, starting with the history of space in Australia, space in society and space governance.
It covers space principles and technology such as orbits, satellite systems and space situational awareness.
