Northrop Grumman and 4iG Space and Defence Technologies have signed a new memorandum of understanding that aims to deepen cooperation and collaboration in the world of counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), space and advanced weapons technology and manufacturing.

“This collaboration with 4iG Space and Defence Technologies reinforces our commitment to expanding space and defence capabilities through trusted trans-Atlantic partnerships,” said Steve O’Bryan, Northrop’s corporate vice president and global business development officer.

“Our combined expertise will deliver the speed, precision and resilience needed for today’s and tomorrow’s security challenges.”

This collaboration seeks to use the industry expertise of both companies to strengthen and uplift the US technological leadership and advancement while simultaneously enhancing Europe’s sovereign industrial base.

The MOU also hopes to enhance NATO’s capabilities through prioritising rapid innovation between the companies and respective nations.

“Defence industry relations between the United States and Hungary play a key role within the NATO alliance,” said Dr István Sárhegyi, CEO at 4iG.

“The collaboration with Northrop Grumman, one of America’s leading defence companies, marks an important milestone in strengthening these ties.”

“I am proud that this cooperation positions Hungary as a European partner and hub for selected technologies, contributing not only to the development of the Hungarian defence industry, but to Europe’s defence capabilities as a whole.”
