Australian space technology company Starbound Space Solutions is expanding into the United Kingdom, marking a significant step in its international growth strategy as it looks to support Europe’s rapidly evolving space sector with artificial intelligence-powered compliance technology.
The award-winning company has developed a proprietary platform designed to capture and scale institutional knowledge while streamlining complex compliance and requirements engineering processes. By automating traditionally paper-heavy workflows, the technology enables engineers and project teams to spend less time on administration and more time focused on delivering mission outcomes.
Starbound said its platform transforms compliance from an administrative burden into a strategic capability, helping organisations accelerate technical assessments, improve quality assurance and support the delivery of increasingly complex space missions.
The UK expansion is being led by co-founders and chief executive Dr Sheila Gough Kenyon and chief technology officer Shaun Kenyon, who are working closely with the UK Space Agency to support its commitment to faster, higher-quality technical, risk and compliance assessments for space sustainability initiatives.
As part of the expansion, the pair are undertaking a high-profile tour across the United Kingdom and mainland Europe, showcasing Starbound’s capabilities to industry leaders while meeting with existing customers and prospective partners throughout England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and continental Europe.
The visit builds on a successful trade mission delivered through Tribe Global Ventures and funded by Queensland Investment Corporation, which provided the founders with opportunities to engage international investors and strengthen relationships across the global technology ecosystem.
Dr Gough Kenyon said the company was focused on removing one of the biggest obstacles facing modern space programs.
“We’re here to eliminate the paper-based bottlenecks that continue to slow modern space missions,” she said.
“The UK has built a vibrant and forward-looking space sector, and we’re looking forward to supporting industry and government by reducing the compliance burden so organisations can focus their expertise on mission success.”
Starbound believes its technology is well aligned with the UK’s growing emphasis on responsible and sustainable space operations and expects its expansion to strengthen collaboration across the British and European aerospace sectors.
By leveraging strategic partnerships and established innovation networks, including connections through the London Stock Exchange Group, the company aims to play an increasingly important role in helping space organisations deliver complex missions more efficiently while maintaining rigorous compliance standards.
