CesiumAstro has acquired Jariet Technologies, a specialist developer of millimetre-wave radio frequency system-on-chip technology, as the US company accelerates its push to build a vertically integrated space and defence communications business.
The acquisition brings Jariet’s semiconductor design expertise into CesiumAstro, strengthening the company’s capabilities across satellite communications, electronic warfare, radar and other high-performance sensing applications.
Jariet specialises in RF system-on-chip technologies that combine direct RF and intermediate-frequency sampling with advanced digital signal processing, digital beamforming and wideband signal processing.
CesiumAstro said the acquisition would support its ambition to develop increasingly integrated communications and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities, spanning semiconductor technology, phased-array antennas, software-defined payloads, waveforms, software and complete satellite systems.
Shey Sabripour, founder and CEO of CesiumAstro, said: “This acquisition brings a foundational semiconductor capability into CesiumAstro.”
The move is expected to give CesiumAstro greater control over the underlying technologies supporting its communications and sensing products, potentially reducing reliance on external semiconductor suppliers while accelerating the development of new systems.
The company already develops communications systems for satellites, aircraft and ground applications, including software-defined active phased-array payloads and integrated mission systems. Bringing semiconductor expertise in-house further extends its vertical integration strategy from silicon through to complete operational platforms.
Jariet’s technology has applications across satellite communications, electronic warfare and radar, three areas experiencing growing demand as military and commercial operators seek higher-performance, more adaptable RF systems.

The acquisition also follows CesiumAstro’s broader expansion into end-to-end space communications and intelligence capabilities. The company has increasingly moved beyond supplying individual payloads and communications components towards the development of integrated satellites and mission systems.
For defence customers, greater vertical integration could enable faster development and production of advanced communications and sensing technologies while providing tighter integration between semiconductor hardware, digital processing, antennas and mission software.
The transaction reflects a broader trend across the aerospace and defence sector, where companies are seeking greater control over critical technologies and supply chains amid increasing demand for advanced RF, electronic warfare and space-based communications capabilities.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
For CesiumAstro, the addition of Jariet Technologies represents another step towards establishing a fully integrated communications and ISR technology portfolio capable of supporting commercial, civil and national security customers across space, air and ground domains.
