KONGSBERG recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with MDA Space Ltd and a strategic Letter of Intent with Telesat LEO ULC, a subsidiary of Telesat Corporation.
The agreements coincide with the official visit of Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre to Ottawa, reflecting the deepening strategic alliance between Canada and Norway following the bilateral Strategic Cooperation Agreement signed earlier this year.
Under these strategic agreements, KONGSBERG is establishing dedicated partnerships with premier Canadian space leaders to strengthen technical cooperation and sovereign communications.
MOU with MDA Space Ltd.: Establishes a collaborative framework between KONGSBERG and MDA Space Ltd. to explore joint space and defence projects and technical cooperation in a variety of domains.
LOI with Telesat LEO ULC: Establishes a strategic intent to leverage and evaluate the integration of the Telesat Lightspeed low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite network into KONGSBERG defence platforms and solution architectures. This cooperation would support the delivery of secure, resilient, low-latency military connectivity for Norway, Canada and their allies.
